I got a recommendation from one of my favorite historians, so I figure I’ll pass it on to you. He directs our attention to Thomas Madden’s new book, Empires of Trust: How Rome Built–and America Is Building–a New World, which was released last week. Madden, I’m told, tells the history of the era of the Fathers and applies lessons to events today. I’m looking forward to a good read. Join me?
