  2. Not just the icons–that whole museum is a gem. I find it absolutely fascinating that in the middle of what has to be one of the most Protestant campuses in America, there’s this awesome collection of (mostly) Catholic sacred art.

    Furthermore, at least the last time I was there, they had almost no interpretative text on the walls (you know, the little blurb you get in most museums, which all too often is an embarassing distraction when attached to sacred art, because there’s absolutely no guarantee that someone with an advanced degree in art history has the faintest ghost of a clue about Christianity). So you’re basically face to face with the art.

    My only beef is that the hours are too short.
